Structure

Application Steps

Step 1:

Get approval from your local chapter advisor and local administrator.

Step 2:

Review the "Important Dates" and ensure that you can commit to making all meetings and events.

​

Step 3:

Read the "State Executive Council Election Handbook."

​

Step 4:

Complete the online SEC Application.

The State Executive Council is comprised of eight (8) positions designated as follows:

  • One (1) Middle-Level representative receiving the most majority votes at the annual Fall Leadership Conference.

  • Six (6) elected positions at the annual State Leadership Conference (secondary or post-secondary): President, Vice-President (2), Secretary, Reporter, and Historian/Chaplain.

  • One (1) Parliamentarian (secondary or post-secondary) appointed by the Oklahoma State Advisor, primarily based on the candidate that scores highest on the (592) Parliamentary Procedures Concepts-Open online exam.

State Executive Council Election Handbook

The handbook seeks to provide all important information and answer questions concerning eligibility, campaigning, and election procedures which govern the Oklahoma BPA State Executive Council election process for prospective state executive council candidates and local chapters at the State Leadership Conference (SLC).

SLC: March 2-4, 2026 | March 8-10, 2027 | March 6-8, 2028

NLC: May 7-11, 2026 (Nashville) |  May 5-9, 2027 (Denver) |  May 10-14, 2028 (Orlando) | May 9-13, 2029 (Washington, D.C.)
